Paraty e Ilha Grande foram declarados Patrimônio Mundial pela Unesco por sua cultura, fauna e flora excepcionais. O Parque Nacional da Serra da Bocaina, a Área de Proteção Ambiental de Cairuçu, o Parque Estadual da Ilha Grande e a Reserva Biológica da Praia do Sul formam um cinturão de mata nativa de quase 150 mil hectares permeados por registros arqueológicos de diferentes idades que abraça o Centro Histórico de Paraty e o Morro da Vila Velha. Paraty Cultura e Biodiversidade é a coexistência da cultura viva e ancestral no ambiente natural exuberante.

Paraty and Ilha Grande were declared World Heritage by UNESCO for their exceptional culture, fauna and flora. Serra da Bocaina National Park, Cairuçu Environmental Protection Area, Ilha Grande State Park and Praia do Sul Biological Reserve form a belt of native forest of almost 150 thousand hectares permeated by archaeological records of different ages that it embraces the Historic Center of Paraty and the Morro da Vila Velha. Paraty Culture and Biodiversity is the coexistence of living and ancestral culture in the lush natural environment.
