A place to experience the history, art, cultural heritage, and biodiversity of Paraty. Nestled within the Historic Center, in a mansion dating back to 1754, the Casa da Cultura de Paraty is the main cultural institution in the historic city and the Costa Verde region.
Throughout its three decades of existence, it has played a vital role in the local community, preserving memories and offering a broad and ongoing program that includes exhibitions, events, workshops, and educational activities.
Founded in 1990, the House of Culture underwent significant restoration and renovation in 2004. Its programming, starting in 2014, was also restructured into three areas: Cultural Heritage, Visual Arts, and Music, including an extensive Music Education Program.
